Andermatt Kenya is delighted to announce the appointment of Hamish Ker as Commercial Manager: Kenya and Eastern Africa.
With over 25 years experience in the Kenyan floriculture industry, Hamish has a wealth of experience, knowledge and practical know how. Sustainable agribusiness practices are at the forefront of his vision for Andermatt Kenya and throughout East Africa, where his key focus will be driving commercial strategy and the execution of sales excellence by the team.
Hamish grew up in Kenya with a long history of farming in the family – from livestock farming to soft fruit production, and the pioneering of the dairy industry. Having been exposed to the farming side from livestock as well as intensive floriculture, Hamish brings sound understanding from a farmer’s perspective and can translate the comprehensive Andermatt portfolio to suit the specific needs of each farmer through the changing seasonal demands.
Hamish studied at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture and Land Management with his dissertation focusing on: The Floricultural industry in Kenya.
Hamish is passionate about Kenya and the African continent as a whole, with a deep understanding of all it has to offer. He and his family live in Naivasha and continue in the long family history of evolving the farming industry in Kenya.
Hamish describes himself as a team player with a passion for challenges. He is an open and persuasive communicator with the ability to quickly pivot and adapt to changing environments.
